Nutty Baked French Toast
Ingredients
1 loaf day old sliced white bread, cut in cubes
10 eggs
3 cups milk
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons pure vanilla
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Nut Topping
3/4 cup butter, softened
1-1/3 cup brown sugar
1-1/3 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
Directions
Generously grease 13 x 9 x 2” pan
Fill pan with cubed bread to the top edge of the pan and set aside
Mix together eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon
Pour over bread
Cover and refrigerate overnight
Combine topping ingredients and gently spoon over the top when ready to bake french toast
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Be sure it doesn’t jiggle in the middle, it will be golden and puffy.
