White Sheet Cake

Cake Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 tsp almond extract

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/2 tsp almond extract

  • Directions

  • In a saucepan bring butter and water to a boil

  • Remove from heat

  • Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder & baking soda

  • Stir hot mixture into dry ingredients

  • Add eggs, sour cream and almond extract and stir until smooth

  • Pour into a greased 10x 15 jelly roll pan

  • Bake at 375 degrees for 22-24 minutes or until done

  • Cool for 20 minutes

    Frosting:

  • Meanwhile for frosting, combine butter and milk in saucepan; bring to a boil

  • Remove from heat; add powdered sugar, almond extract and mix well

  • Frost cake!

  • Note: sometimes I cut the frosting ingredients in half. This cuts back a little on the calories but it still has the delicious taste!

  • *This cake can be mixed with a wire whisk and there is no need for an electric mixer.
