JOY

January 2023

My feelings about Joy feel complicated sometimes. Joy at its simplest seems really easy to define, but I think joy sits in the opposite position of pain and suffering. It is the underneath of all we go through, and it is different than a day of happiness. It is stronger than happy. It runs deeper and its roots are tougher.

I grew up hearing the joy of the Lord is my strength, and I didn’t know what that meant. Now, after the life I have lived, it means that joy is held by God and this is is supernatural. If God holds the joy and makes it accessible to me, it in turn gives me strength and can fill my heart deep down. Let’s explore joy in the month of January.
